Our program recognizes that addressing trauma is an essential part of recovery and personal growth. Our peer-led, trauma-informed groups are organized by certified Peer Recovery Specialists, who provide compassionate guidance and create a safe space for healing. These groups offer a supportive environment where participants can connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
Women’s Trauma Group
The 12-week “Beyond Trauma—A Healing Journey for Women” workshop, developed by Dr. Stephanie Covington, is designed to explore the unique relationship between trauma and addiction in women’s lives. This evidence-based curriculum integrates grounding exercises, yoga poses, and mind-body activities across three modules to help participants process trauma and build resilience. Key topics include:
- Understanding trauma and its effects
- Trauma and substance use disorders
- Creating safety and self-soothing strategies
Men’s Trauma Group
Our 12-session men’s workshop follows a faith-based, outcome-driven trauma curriculum facilitated by peers with lived experience. This program helps participants explore the roots of their trauma, navigate emotions, and find stability through healing. Topics covered include:
- Managing guilt, shame, and regret
- Coping with loss and grief
- Establishing safety and emotional stability
These trauma-informed groups provide practical tools and emotional support, empowering individuals to move beyond their trauma and embrace recovery in a safe, inclusive setting.
